Matt, if VN wanted Edsel Ford to be something real that appeared
false, it sure worked on me (even better than Franklin Lane).
But I think the name was so memorable and amusing that he couldn't
have planned on that.

An odd connection: The Wikipedia article on "woodwose" mentions
the /Konungs Skuggsja/, which Kinbote called the /Kongs-skugg-sio/
or /Royal Mirror/. Apparently, the /Konungs Skuggsja/ mentions
a wild man (hairy and with a mane like a horse's down his back,
so not much like Gordon).

What language is "Kongs-skugg-sio" supposed to be, Zemblan?
