Even if the "a" in "patio" is differently pronounced, as it might be in
Spanish, the sound of the "t" in both words would also have to be
considered
("t" as in "tea" and "t" as in "referential" )

[EDNote: my visit to the OED-on line this morning confirmed that in its
alternate pronunciation, we get 'fell-ah- tee-oh', not quite the
same "a" as in British "patio," but close enough for a good false
rhyme. -SB]
