Wickett's Remedy, Myla Goldberg's latest novel was received to general critical acclaim (reviewed last week). Knight News Staff Writer Alexandra Elbaum recently spoke to Myla briefly over the phone about the story behind the novel.

Q: Wickett's Remedy has a plethora of other voices alongside the novel, like whispers of the dead and newspaper clippings from the era; where did you come up with the idea to include them alongside the margins?
A: One of my favorite books, Tale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov is an epic poem with similar annotations. While reading it, you realize that a very important part of the story is in the annotations themselves, and I was hoping to do something similar.
