Reply to Dane Gill: as I mentioned in a previous posting, when Wilson visited us in Cambridge in the 40's, he would do a magic trick fo me, to which I looked forward eagerly: a handkerchief folded into a rabbit-like shape that traveled along a string. This has always been associated in my mind with the "Bunny" sobriquet. I don't know at what age Wilson started performing the trick, and whether there actually was a connection.
