Subject: VN looking for a job in S Africa and India

Dear all,

I hazily remember Nabokov saying in the late 1930s that he was ready to work as a university lecturer anywhere in the English-speaking world, India and South Africa included. I thought it was somewhere in his letters to Gleb Struve or some other good friend who could assist him in finding a job, but now I can't find it. Can anyone help clarify this?

Thanks a lot, as usual.

Sergey

EDNOTE. I thought it might be  mentioned in one of Andrew Field's book since he lived in Australia during his Nabokov period but a quick index check didn't turn up anything. Does anyone recall where VN writes this?
