John G. Ray Jr., 81, of Havenwood-Heritage Heights, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, after a brief illness.

He was born Jan. 1, 1920, in Syracuse, N.Y., and was raised in Rochester, N.Y. He resided in Danvers and Topsfield, Mass., moving to Concord in 1997.

He was a 1938 graduate of Brighton High School and a 1942 graduate of Alfred University where he majored in glass technology at the N.Y. State College of Ceramics.
