An excerpt from an interesting paragraph culled from an online auction site:

" ... Vladimir Nabokov, who lived from 1899-1977, was a Russian novelist, poet, and literary scholar. His family left Russia for Germany in 1919. After studying at TRINITY COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE, Nabokov lived in BERLIN and PARIS, before coming to the U.S. in 1940 where he taught at WELLESEY COLLEGE and later at CORNELL. Nabokov's novel LOLITA---a SEXY story of a man with a 'foot fetish' established Nabokov as a major writer, allowing Nabokov to give up teaching and devote himself to writing. ... "

Perhaps this 'foot fetish' would be of help to researching on VN & perversion.

Dear List,
a fellow PhD student at Cambridge is supervising an undergraduate dissertation on Nabokov and perversion. Any advice on specific articles or books germane to this topic would be greatly appreciated!
Many tks in advance,
