Brian Boyd to Barrie Akin: "Yes, great finds and prompts, Barrie, including Hernani and rippleson stillicides.Perhaps we should be wary, though, of treating everything as entirely consistent at every level..."

Jansy Mello: Yesterday I bought SERROTE (n.11), a Brazilian Art magazine. I thought I had a great sighting to report for Vladimir Nabokov's name, and Brian Boyd's, were prominently displayed in its cover.
However, there were no two isolated articles inside, but the translation of the lecture Brian Boyd delivered in Rio de Janeiro in September 2009, with the title "Nabokov and Machado," already published, in English, in Brian Boyd's recent "Stalking Nabokov."
The Brazilian edition was beautifully illustrated by several pages of Nabokov's drawings of butterflies, text and images extending from pg 36 to page 57.
Machado refers to Brazilian writer Machado de Assis and B.Boyd demonstrated the affinities between the two writers, while he confessed that he's also like to pair Nabokov and Darwin, Nabokov and William James, or Nabokov and T.S.Eliot (news about BB's lectures in Brazil are available in the List.)
