Colleagues,

I discussed the archeology of CCL in "The World of Nabokov's Stories"
(1998). In this book, and also in my article "After Rapture and Recapture:
Transformations in the Drafts of Nabokov's Stories (1999), I wrote at some
length about the story's textual history. Incidentally, at the upcoming
Nabokov Readings 2014 in St. Petersburg, where I'm heading as of this
writing, Mikhail Efimov will be presenting a paper on CCL and the legacy of
Russian symbolism.

See some of you next week in Spb.
