Subject: Re: VN Conference papers

I don't know how many Nabokovians attended the annual International
Conference on Narrative Literature, which was held this year in
Vancouver. Two papers were presented on Nabokov: "Brian Boyd, Andrew
Field, and Nabokov Biography," by Robert Merrill, University of Nevada,
Reno; and "Narrative Seductions: Vladimir Nabokov's PNIN as an Immigrant
Narrative," by Magdelena J. Zaborowska, Furman University.

The theme of next year's conference, which will be held in Salt Lake City,
is legal discourse, historical discourse, and narratology. I would like to
propose a session on the topic "Narrating History in Nabokov." Please send
queries to my email address (sweeney@hcacad.holycross.edu) by September 1.
(The conference will take place in April 1995.)
