EDITOR'S NOTE. Jeff Edmunds <jhe@psulias.psu.edu>, is editor of ZEMBLA,
the VN Web site at

The answer to the query below is presumably "Putevoditel' po
Berlinu", [A Guide to Berlin].

A note and a query. Suellen Stringer-Hye, tireless seeker of all things
cybernabokovian, has located a photo of what is purported to be Dominique
Swain, the 15-year-old girl playing Lolita in the new film. It can be found
at http://photogallery.simplenet.com/dominique_swain/dswain01.jpg. (A friend
here, after seeing the photo, said "ugh--Wyeth's Helga as portrayed by
Madonna." Personally I find the 'look' a vast improvement over Sue Lyon's
blatantly post-pubescent appeal.)

A question from a visitor to Zembla. Perhaps a NABOKV-L subscriber can help.
Does anyone know "the name of the story Nabokov published the day before
Christmas, 1925 in Rul'"? The correspondent is seeking both the Russian and
English titles. Thank you.
