A.M. Homes's _The End of Alice_ (fwd)
Date
Body
There was a good deal of media coverage and comment on this neo-Lolita
specimen when it appeared some months ago. I now see that a British
edition is reviewed in the _Times Literary Supplement_ of 31 Oct., p. 25.
The reviewer, one Margot Livesly, ends her queasy (but approving)
commentary with "Not all readers will want to see A.M. Homes's vision,
but those who do will find themselves unmistakably in the presence of the
Other."
To which, I can only say "the Other" WHAT..
