EDITOR's RESPONSE. Brain Boyd's biography does not mention any meetings or
dealings with Nin or de Beauvoir. VN never met Sartre but had a prolonger
"feud" with him. See my article in the first issue of NABOKOV STUDIES. For
other references, check the VM Bibliography on ZEMBLA.

I've just subscribed to your mailing list, but have a question to which
I need an urgent answer and hope you will not mind me emailing it
directly to you. It is this: Did Nabokov, when he was in Paris before
the war, meet and get to know Anais Nin and her crowd, or indeed Simone
de Beauvoir and Sartre and their friends? If you can put me in touch
with someone who knows about this period of Nabokov's life I would be
extremely grateful.

Best wishes
