The current issue of Men's Health magazine (Dec. 1999) has, on page
144, a cartoon entitled "It Happened One Night at the Old Geezers Bar."
In it are cartoon representations of Woody Allen, William Shakespeare,
Humbert Humbert, and Thomas Aquinas. Quotations (all footnoted in the
cartoon) as follow:

Woody Allen: "She's a marvel and she laughs at all my jokes.
She thinks I'm hilarious, and that doesn't hurt the relationship
one bit, I can tell you!"

Shakespeare: "Is it not strange that Desire should so many years
outlive Performance?"

Humbert: "I have all the characteristics which start the
responses stirring in a little girl: clean-cut jaw, muscular
hand, deep sonorous voice, broad shoulder. Moreover, I'm said
to resemble some crooner or actor chap on whom Lo has a crush!"

Aquinas: "Although old people have not sufficient calidity to
procreate, they have sufficient to copulate."

Cheers,

Jeremy
