Within the last few weeks several, really exciting, things happened to
Polish
admirers of Nabokov.
In the recent 70 th volume of Polish quarterly "Cahiers Literaire"
("Zeszyty Literackie") might be found very interesting essay "Translating
Nabokov" written by Michael Scammell. From the "today" perspective Scammell
describes (with
huge portion of self-criticism) his very adventurous affair with both
Nabokovs -Vladimir and Vera.

It's worth to mention, that from main Nabokov's works only "Ada" had not
been
published in Polish.

His first volume of "Lectures on Literature" had been also already
translated
and published. Two weeks ago the most influential Polish weekly magazine
"Polityka" gave the volume very warm (and quite extensive) review.
