? A brief report in the Movies: Critic's Choice column in the Television
section on Sunday about "The Major and the Minor" (1942) misstated the
time when its director, Billy Wilder, noted the similarities between the
film and Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita," published in 1955. It was in the
1990's, not when he took on the project.
