1. Stephen Blackwell reviews editor Julian Connolly's collection
_Nabokov and his Fiction: New perspectives_, Cambridge UP. $60. The
essays are all by well-known VN specialists. Blackwell rightly singles
out the essays of Gennady Barabtarlo, Maurice Couturier, and Leona Toker
for particular praise.

2. On the lighter (?) side, The New Yorker of March 11, 2002 contains
Sharon DeLano's profile of Rimbaud-Blake loving singer-composer Patti
Smith, "The Torch Singer." Noted in Smith's library, inter alia,
NABOKOV's BUTTERFLIES.
