Has it ever been suggested that the expedition to arctic Canada undertaken
by Humbert could be a hallucination? The presence of a Bert who merely
confirms all of Humbert's ideas about things, the "hush hush" nature of
the expedition, all of these seem to indicate something of that nature. I
don't think that the entire novel or even a substantial part of it is a
hallucination, but there are a couple of episodes which I think might be.
