The WWII ski troops trained in Colorado,....

At Camp Hale, as a matter of fact. A delightful spot an hour west of
Colorado Springs, up in the mountains. It was torn down by mistake,
mistaken for Camp Hale, Texas. In the fifties there were still BOQ's
and the "General's Cabin" reserved for high brass, fishing Congressmen,
and the pediatrician at Fort Carson who cared for the General's
children.
