EDNOTE. To all and sundry....I am sure that subscribers to NABOKV-L understand
that the appearance of materials on NABOKV-L does NOT mean that he editor
necessarily agrees with the opinions of the writer. In fact some items are run
solely because of their appeal to the editor's whimsy.

Re: found only this in Lolita...ch.9

Dear Don,according to the EDNOTE. Yes, it was for "delectation" -- as is perhaps
too much of NABOKV-L stuff.... but what kind of delectation would be "too much
"?

I just received SK´s and Sandy Klein´s delightful comments on Doyle´s Ray Jr.
and the demolished structure with hidden treasures. And yet, while perusing
Lolita I discovered that "Nymphets do not occur in polar regions".
HH adds: " I left my betters the task of analyzing glacial drifts, drumlins, and
gremlins, and kremlins, and for a time tried to jot down what I fondly thought
were "reactions" (I noticed, for instance, that dreams under the midnight sun
tended to be highly colored, and this my friend the photographer confirmed)"
(ch.9)
Could the arctic pictures taken by Bert (Bert!) confirm our fabulist´s story?
Jansy
