One might also note that in the current Atlantic Monthly, Hitchens
discusses Lermontov with, of course, several references to Nabokov.

Dear Forum,

In Christopher Hitchens' book Unacknowledged Legislation he mentions in
passing
a short story by Nabokov in which a boy is scared of one particular
picture in
a schoolbook. Does anyone know of this story ? I just can't put my
finger on it
at the moment.

Thanks,

Nicholas Richards
