I undertook to check VN's published screenplay "Lolita". I have now done so.
There is no mention of "The Hunted Enchanters"; the hotel is unambiguously
"The Enchanted Hunters", mentioned and shown in writing three times, with
another
reference in speech to "The Enchanted". So the inversion in the Kubrick film
remains unexplained.

Also, in his screenplay, as in the novel, VN clearly shows HH slipping a drug
into Lolita's drink at the hotel. Kellie Dawson mentioned, I think, that
neither Kubrick's nor Lyne's film shows this. Evidently this omission was part
of
the film-makers' project of "lightening" HH.
