Stan's mention of Shaw's (or Hemingway's) inability to imitate himself
convincingly enough reminds me of Mike Sacks's piece in McSweeney's five
years ago. Sacks submitted VN's story "Torpid Smoke" pseudonymously to
seven online manuscript evaluation services and received all sorts of
