George: "Nabokov[a]" could be transliterated quite easily using just four of
the ninety-two remarkable characters from the Cherokee syllabary devised by
Chief Sequoyah in the 18th century. Cherokee is quite rare among the N
American "first nations" in having a rich _written_ literature. Indeed, some
of the earliest NA newspapers were published in Cherokee.
I'm sure some defining sentence could emerge for VN, knowing the Cherokee
gift for word-play. My fear is it might be "He-who-kills-rare-butterflies"
