respondents, correspondents, scholars, and participants from around the
world? My gratitude to one and all for this unsentimental education is
exceeded only by my continuing fascination with your erudition, good
will,
and unstinting zestiness. May you continue in good health and
intellectual
vigor through another year of study devoted to that aristocrat of
fiction,
that champion of the human spirit, Vladimir Nabokov.
Most importantly, an especially heartfelt thanks to those diplomats of
discourse, those generous but discriminating arbiters of decent
discussion,
