Subject
A phrase from Lenin

Dear List

I am studying Nabokov’s forewords, and while reading the one to The Eye I
had a hazy recollection of the sentence below being opened by a typical
Lenin-phrase, but, I simply can’t remember where I’ve read that. Can
anyone, please?:

“As is well-known (to employ a famous Russian phrase), my books are not
only blessed by a total lack of social significance, but are also
mythproof” (The Eye 9)

Best wishes,
Ole Nyegaard, Aarhus
