EDNote: as this thread has progressed, I kept thinking that I remembered
reading on the list a few years ago that Field's archive was auctioned.
I was shocked to see that "a few years" was nearly 21. As far as I can
tell, there was no follow-up reporting where the archive wound up.
Anyone? -SB

Andrew Field's VN archives will be sold at auction by Sotheby's in London
on July 19, 1994. It is lot 205 in their catalogue and the estimated value
is 8-12,000 pounds. DBJ
